Foam Magazine is an international photography magazine published by Foam Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam once a year.

Foam Magazine has been awarded several prizes for its high-grade graphic design and the quality of its content. Most recently, Foam Magazine was awarded the Lucie Award for Photography Magazine of the Year in 2017 and 2019.

In celebration of Foam’s 25th anniversary, this landmark issue of Foam Magazine reflects on the museum’s legacy and the role of the photographic medium in society through the question: what makes an image stand the test of time? Featuring 92 contributors from across photography and beyond, the issue brings together portfolios, conversations, and personal reflections – from Tyler Mitchell to Marina Abramović, Sakir Khader, Lebohang Kganye, Oluremi C. Onabanjo, and Gem Fletcher, Deborah Willis.

This magazine offers a starting point for conversation and contemplation on the potential of images today, and a projection of those we wish to see tomorrow.
