Monocle – Issue 124: Mobility Special
Monocle magazine is a global look at current affairs, business, culture and design, with articles on politics and business in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas, news on global culture from cultural centres like Tokyo, Paris and London, and featuring inspiring designs. Published 10 times a year and with many fans of it's style and content, Monocle provides a close look at everything going on in the world.
Monocle’s June issue is our mobility special: if you’re thinking of investing in a yacht, a new set of wheels or just changing your commute, we’ll rev your engine.
Our Transport Survey features the visionaries who are reshaping the way we get from A to B. But it’s not all planes, trains and automobiles (or boats for that matter). For example, we stop off in Rome to meet those who are addressing the Eternal City’s urban woes, tackling the mounting garbage and graffiti as well as fixing the crumbling infrastructure. Then we meet a pair of journalists-turned gumshoes, who explain how the two careers aren’t so different.
We also focus on the fact that sometimes, building anew isn’t the best way to create residences, offices or schools. Take a look at the architects breathing new life into old buildings, from a bombed out Milanese building to a revamped up Parisian garage. Enjoy the journey.
